Home # PRP Lift Service
Platelets are very small cells in your blood that are involved in the clotting process and plasma is the liquid in which platelets are suspended. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated plasma with platelets. When PRP is applied to the damaged area, the cells recruit enzymes which promote healing of damaged facial tissue by attracting stem cells to repair the damaged area. As a result, new collagen begins to develop. As the collagen matures, it begins to shrink causing the tightening and strengthening of the damaged area. When treating injured, sun damaged and time damaged tissue, they can induce a remodeling of the tissue to a healthier and younger state.

PRP has been shown to have overall rejuvenating effects on the skin such as: improving skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, increasing volume via the increased production of collagen, elastin, blood vessels and fatty tissue and by diminishing and improving the appearance of scars. Other benefits: minimal down time, safe with minimal risk because you are using your own tissue, short recovery time, natural looking results, no general anesthesia is required. The unique thing about this treatment is that your skin will continue to improve as long as the platelets continue to stimulate growth of collagen, recruit stem cells and promote remodeling of injured facial tissue.

How is the procedure done?

Blood is drawn up from the individual patient into a syringe. The blood is spun down in a special centrifuge to separate its components of red blood cells, platelet rich plasma, and plasma. PRP is taken from the centrifuged mixture and injected into the desired area. The injections target deeper into the skin tissue promoting longer lasting effects when compared to the plasma facial. PRP can also be injected as a natural filler to soften facial creases and wrinkles, add plumpness to lips and fullness to your face in addition to the rejuvenation effects.

How long does the procedure last?

The procedure for a PRP lift takes approximately one hour. Generally 2 to 3 treatments are advised within a three week period. However, the optimum number of treatments might vary depending on each individual and his/her needs. 3 to 6 treatments are advised in treatment of acne scars because of their depth within in the skin and complexity (it is both a scar and a wound). Touch up treatment may be done every six months or once a year after the initial group of treatments to boost and maintain results.

When can I start to see its effects and how long do they last?

Results generally begin to be visible at 2 weeks and continue to improve gradually over the next 2 to 6 months with improvement in texture and tone. Current data shows results may last anywhere from 9 to 24 months. Please keep in mind that effects will vary depending on person’s diet, skin regimen, and other lifestyle choices. Advanced wrinkling cannot be reversed, severe scarring may not respond, and only a minimal improvement is predictable in persons with drug, alcohol, and tobacco usage.

Is it safe?

Yes, the PRP procedures are extremely safe because you are using your own blood, therefore almost eliminating all risks of infection and allergic reaction. Also, the treatment is minimally invasive with minor risk of bruising.

Do you offer other PRP treatments?

We perform Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facials, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Lifts and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Laser Treatments. Our PRP Laser Treatment is a unique combination of using a laser to make even finer pores in the skin to allow more PRP to be taken in by the skin. PRP Facials use dermapens to assist PRP absorption into the skin, and our PRP Lift is described above.
